Product Description

These clay figures are inspired by the amazing work of Mestre (Master) Vitalino, with his clay figures referred to as the "clay dolls of Vitalino". His work is so popular that he has pieces exhibited at the Louvre Museum in Paris.

It portrays a "Band of Fifes," one of the most traditional expressions of folk music from the Brazilian Northeast. The instrumental ensemble is usually composed of two flutes, three drums, one being a bass drum, and a symbol.

The fife is a small transverse flute, with a more intense sound than a piccolo. The most famous of these bands is the one from the town of Caruaru, in Northeastern Brazil and this statue is most likely inspired by them.
