Engraver painter, draftsman, illustrator and arts teacher, André began his artistic activity at age 15 in Rio de Janeiro. He studied drawing, painting, woodcut and metal engraving with the most renowned artists and at Rio de Janeiro's Senai.He lived from 1993 to 1997 in Três Lagoas, MS, where he taught woodcutting at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul.

He has already held more than 300 individual and collective exhibitions in Brazil and abroad, and was awarded with the 2011 - Special Mention at the 5th Biennial of Etching Latin Eye and the 9th International Prize of Engraving - Premi el Caliu 2004 - Olot, Spain, 2003.
