Product Description

This unique necklace was made with large beads made of seeds and is sure to be a talking piece among friends and family. These handicrafts are produced by a group of artisans called the "Saracá Ants", which use wood, seeds and other natural resources in their artistry. They are specialized in weaving with açai seeds (Euterpe Oleracea ), a typically Brazilian palm tree whose purple fruits are used in the manufacturing of food and beverages.

They live in the Sustainable Development Community called Saracá located in the Rio Negro Region in the North of Brazil. Saracá is the name of a common ant from this lush region.

The artisans are appropriately named the "Saracá Ants" because of their strong and efficient work ethic, similar to that of this ant species.
