Product Description

They were created by Brazilian craftsman Carlos Fernando Barbosa Barros from the small town of Sertânia, Pernambuco, Northeastern Brazil.

Also known as the Mestre (Master) Carlos B, this artisan is recognized worldwide for his distinct wood carvings that depict migrants, mourners, cowboys and other prominent figures in the region.

His main source of materials are trunks and branches of Umburana or Amburana (Amburana cearensis ) trees. The Umburana tree is a typical Northeastern tree whose seeds have medicinal benefits for respiratory problems, providing analgesic, anti-inflammatory and anti-rheumatic relief.
