Product Description

These fabulous acrylic on canvas paintings express perspectives of rural Brazilian society. Proud of their multicultural heritage, Brazilians love socializing; children playing happily, capoeira gatherings, enjoying the fresh water of a river or even while busy at work. The gorgeous landscape that is Brazil, full of mountains, hills and abundant green forests has certainly informed how cultural norms have developed, how people relate to each other. Nature and society are wonderfully blended in Alma's paintings.

More about the artist:

Alma America Ibacache Reyes is originally from Illapel, Chile. She arrived in São Paulo, Brazil in 1976. Her brother, who already lived in São Paulo introduced her to the magical world of art. Through the need to make money Alma discovered her gift. Soon, Alma presented her paintings in vernissages hosted by renowned hotels, experiencing success from the start. Her work has also reached Europe through small expositions in a few countries. Due to the discovery of an illness and a deficiency from birth, Alma focused her energies in her work as a way to carry on living as normally as possible. Through her paintings, Alma demonstrates how she sees Brazil's genuine spirit and beauty.
