About the artist

This purse was created by artisan Rodney Paiva, who lives in the city of Rio Branco, the capital of the state of Acre. For Rodney, the forest is a source of constant inspiration for all of her creations.
Elements from the unique Brazilian rainforest such as Tucum, jarina, morototó, açaí, paxiúba, paxiubão, jupati and tucumã are essential features of her handmade creations.

Her work has even received international recognition, being highlighted in the UNESCO catalog which highlights the best crafts from around the world. The secret to Rodney's unique artistry is simple, she states, "I am passionate about what I do."
