Mauro captured the Sugar Loaf Mountain, a renowned landmark of Rio de Janeiro with a poetic focus and with a wonderful use of perspective.

Industrial designer, and visual programmer, Mauro Fichman has been a professional photographer since 1982 in Rio de Janeiro. He exhibited his works in prestigious galleries in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo Curitiba, Belo Horizonte, Buenos Aires, and at the Mokiti Okada Foundation. His work escapes from passing fads, his black and white works are remarkable and the amazingly colorful textures of nature are quite impressive. Mauro remembers that "Art exists because life is not enough" which is a terse saying of Ferreira Gullar, the great neoconcretist Brazilian poet.

His photos are made with black and white films or, when colorful, with slides and then digitally scanned and produced.
